Cemal Süreyya'nın çevirisi çok ağdalı ve şiirsel ama maalesef bu durum anlamı kaybettirecek seviyeye çıkmış burada... Keşke bu eseri orjinal dilinden okuyabilecek kadar Fransızca bilseydim diye hayıflandım okurken ...

Insanı bir labirentin içine sokan ve okurken dış dünya ile bağlantının kesildiği muhteşem bir kitap... Empati de aynı lezzettedir. 10/10

Marber'ın oyunlarından biridir bu kitap. Başarılı bulduğum bir modernizm eleştirisi... Günümüz modern (teknoloji çağı) insanının ne kadar mutsuz ve yanlız olduğu gerçeğini karakterler arasındaki diyaloglar ve sembolik anlatımla çok iyi aktarmış.Önce kitabı okuyup sonra filmini izlemiştim. Kitap tabii ki çok daha tatmin edici.

En sevdiğim alıntıyı içinde barındıran hayatımın kitaplarından biridir: "I used to think darkness and death were probably the same. That darkness was the absence of light. That death was nothing more than the shadow-lands where people bought and sold and loved as usual but with less conviction. We will forever be recognizing people we have never met. But darkness and death are not the same. The one is temporary, the other is not."
